Y’all it’s a cape….. it’s a scarf…. it’s a cape scarf. This might be the greatest invention to ever hit my closet. I’ve had my eye on a cape scarf since last winter but never actually got around to buying one. When I saw this one in its versatile black and white windowpane print, I just knew I had to have it. I wore it as a cape shown above but it also makes a fabulous blanket scarf. Honestly, I feel like I’m wearing a blanket while looking chic and who wouldn’t want comfort and style all in one? I kept this look simple but you could even wear it over a little black dress to a formal event during the colder months.
Since the outfit is very black and white, I used my booties and jewelry to give it some color. I’ve had these booties for at least two years and I still constantly reach for them in my closet. The heel is a great height and I can wear them all day with out my feet hurting. They seriously add the perfect pop of color to any outfit and budget friendly at under $50. I bought these tassel earrings last year from my sweet friend Alex at Goldenstrand Jewelry and the detailing on them is absolutely stunning. Clearly I am slightly obsessed with the burgundy color for fall and winter but how could I not be with cute shoes and accessories like these?
Styling Tip: For shorter girls like I am, I would say to pair your cape scarf with simple and fitted clothing items underneath. Since there is a lot of material on the cape you don’t want to your figure to get swallowed. Keep your silhouette simple. Also, pair it with some sort of heels to make your legs look to look longer and not lost in the cape.
I hope everyone has a fabulous Wednesday. Derek and I are going to see Adele tonight and I am SO excited! Word on the street is that she is incredible live and I cannot wait to hear her sing!
