Shop My Outfit:

Everyone classifies summer as wedding season, but for me wedding season is all year long! When you live in Texas, the weather is pretty warm all year round, which makes any month a good month to get married. It is almost the end of January and I have already been to two weddings this year! Both weddings had the attire of black tie optional, which meant they were going to be a more formal wedding. If you receive an invitation with black tie optional attire for the ladies it means you have the option to wear a long gown or formal midi or cocktail dress. Since I don’t get to wear long gowns very often I always opt to wear one when the invitation says black tie optional. This absolutely stunning gown is what I wore my first wedding of the year and I could not be more smitten with it.
I only own one long black gown, which I bought for my first black tie wedding about five years ago. I wore it to the second wedding that I went to this year but knew I didn’t want to wear it at back to back weddings. Rent the Runway has been my go-to place to rent dresses for galas, weddings and anytime I am looking for a designer piece I want to wear. When I came across this Marchesa Notte gown, I knew it would be absolutely perfect for my friend Alex’s wedding. It retails for over $1,000 and I was able to rent it for four days for only $95! The embroidery detail on it is absolutely stunning and makes it a one of a kind piece. The style is conservative enough for a formal event but has just the right amount of sass with the sheer midsection. I received SO many compliments on this dress and cannot recommend it enough.
If you have never rented an item through Rent the Runway, do yourself a favor and check it out. You always receive two sizes of the item that you order just in case one doesn’t fit. Their customer service team is always available to help if there is something wrong with your order and I have always found them to be super helpful and go the extra mile.
If you have a black tie/black tie optional wedding or gala coming up soon, I have also rounded up some of my other favorite options. You can rent most of these items for under $100, which is WAY less then what you would have to spend to buy a new outfit for every event.
